Join Our Team at UPMC Hamot - Full-Time Parking Attendant (Afternoon/Evening Shifts)
Are you committed to delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a safe, welcoming experience for patients and visitors? UPMC Hamot is currently hiring a Full-Time Parking Attendant to support the smooth operation of our hospital's parking services. This role is essential in creating a positive first impression and maintaining the safe handling of vehicles.
This position primarily covers afternoon and evening shifts, with a target schedule of 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Some flexibility may be required to accommodate shifts from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, though most shifts are consistently scheduled. Occasionally, shifts may be adjusted based on business needs, including staying past shift end to assist with vehicle retrieval.
Key Details:
+ Every other weekend and holiday availability is required
+ No on-call requirement, but overtime may be offered for open shifts or call-offs
+ Option to work five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts
+ Minimal flexible scheduling - most shifts are set

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

In this role, there is the opportunity to-
+ Request approval from the parking supervisor prior to taking any breaks.
+ Greet and address all patients and others in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
+ Operate the department's radios as per the established procedures.
+ Operate all vehicles entrusted to the valet service in a safe and responsible manner.
+ Store keys as per departmental procedure.
+ Notify the parking supervisor of any damage done to a vehicle immediately.
+ Adhere to the philosophy and standards of the business unit to include conveying respect, courtesy, enthusiasm, professionalism, and a positive attitude in work situations with patients, peers, medical staff, and visitors.
+ Ensure that all necessary information is completed on the tags and on the log sheet.
+ Assist with parking and traffic control in designated valet parking areas as directed by the customer service team leader and/or the parking supervisor.
+ Respond to directions from the customer service team leader and/or the parking supervisor.
+ Respond to driveway/garage to transport vehicles as quickly as possible.
+ Report for duty on time and in uniform.
Required:
+ Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Preferred:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Great communication and customer service skills.
+ Ability to work both in a team and independently.
+ Ability to work in busy/stressful environments.
+ Willingness to work outdoors and drive in all weather including wind, rain, and snow.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Act 31 Mandated reporter within 90 days of hire/transfer
+ Driver's License
+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
