    **Job Type:** Full-Time; Contract (12 Months) Possible Temp to Perm

    **Location:** Sterling, VA 20164

    **Schedule:** Monday to Friday | 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

    **Pay Rate:** $17.61-$18.00 per hour

     

    About the Role

     

    PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a **Mechanical Assembler** to support a surge of work in the aerospace manufacturing sector. In this role, you will contribute to the build and installation of subassemblies for flight simulators—critical components that prepare pilots for real-world missions. Your craftsmanship and precision will directly impact safety, performance, and innovation in the aerospace industry.

    What You’ll Do

    + Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.

    + Perform mechanical assembly for flight simulators, including subassemblies and installations.

    + Use basic hand tools, drills, measuring equipment, and light machinery.

    + Conduct quality checks, identify defects, and complete rework or repairs to meet engineering specifications.

    + Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes for material handling.

    + Maintain accurate workstation inventory and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work area.

    + Perform finishing tasks such as molding, sanding, or cutting acrylic.

    + Work onsite daily

    + Adhere to strict safety and quality standards at all times.

     

    What You Bring

    Required Qualifications

    + Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly experience.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

    + Proficiency with basic hand tools, drills, and measuring devices.

    + Ability to climb up to 6 feet and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.

    + Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.

    + Willingness to work 100% onsite

    + Must provide your own steel-toed boots. **This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).     Preferred Qualifications

    + Advanced mechanical skills with strong attention to detail.

    + Experience working independently with minimal supervision.

    + Aerospace or manufacturing background.

    **Pay Details:** $17.61 to $18.00 per hour
