Job Description

General Purpose:

The Blend Operator is responsible for following all DFA Ingredient Solutions GMP’s and working in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, and quality and sanitation requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Weighs each ingredient and add to the batch

+ Ensures the product is ready to dry

+ Carries out all QA checks in the mix room

+ Operates the pH meter, refractometer, etc. to keep product within specifications

+ Performs necessary routine cleaning and preventive maintenance

+ Follows established plant operating and cleaning procedures

+ Follows Good Manufacturing Practices

+ Assists with safety analysis and on the job training of new employees

+ Attends educational training seminars as needed (i.e. loss control)

+ Attends and participates in safety meetings

+ Reports unsafe acts, conditions, and accidents immediately to supervisor

+ Assists in accident investigations

+ Covers vacations and overtime as needed or required

+ Assists with duties in other departments as needed

Performs other work as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

_Education and Experience_

+ High School Diploma or GED required

+ 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred

_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities_

+ Basic computer skills

+ Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and job safety analysis

+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

+ Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage

+ Performs work independently, as required

+ Knowledge with machines, tools, equipment, and lockout tagout

+ Must be able to read, write and speak English
