• sUAS Production Manager

    COLSA is hiring for a UAS Production Manager to lead exciting unmanned aerial systems projects. You'll oversee production workflows, guide a skilled team, and act a key client liaison - ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

     

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

     

    + Responsible for the overall management of the Production staff; provides managerial guidance to team of UAS engineers, technicians, and specialists regarding production workflow, operations and problem solving based on expertise and knowledge

    + Responsible for ensuring that staffing, facilities, equipment, etc., are adequate for successful completion of the task/project

    + Responsible for preparing department specific reports as required by government or customer

    + Develops policies, guidelines, and procedures and recommends changes to procedure when needed

    + Works alongside other UAS team leads and managers to ensure customer satisfaction relating to technical contract performance; may work independently as needed

    + Coordinates some logistics elements, including but not limited to spares, support equipment, training, facilities, technical data, and provisioning

    + Controls the flow of assets, services, and information between point of origin through receipt in order to meet customer requirement

    + Serves as liaison between department and other departments as well as with outside customers, regulatory personnel, etc.

    Required SkillsRequired Experience

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree or higher in related field or equivalent experience

    + Minimum of 5 years of related experience including Army and training range operations

    + Knowledge of Army regulations for sUAS flight operations and safety

    + Understanding of Army Air Worthiness process and documentation

    + Experience with sUAS design and build using SolidWorks

    + sUAS Production line, outsourcing, and supply chain experience

    + DoD Secret clearance; US Citizenship required;

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Pilot/operator experience for Group 1 and Group 2 multi-rotor, fixed wing, fixed wing VTOL, helicopter, and tethered multi-rotor sUAS

    + sUAS powerplants including Electric, Nitro, Gasoline, Hybrid, and Turbine

    + FAA Certification for sUAS operations

    + Army Aviation Experience

    + R/C Modeling Experience including FPV

    + DoD 5000 knowledge for engineering processes including SRR, PDR, CDR events.
