Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Cold Finish Nebraska is seeking a motivated and dependable Maintenance Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in general maintenance operations and provides exposure to a variety of tasks that support facility safety, efficiency, and upkeep. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, works well with others, and is committed to maintaining a safe and positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and equipment safety protocols.

+ Conduct routine inspections and audits of machinery, tools, and facility systems to identify potential safety or operational issues.

+ Participate in troubleshooting and investigations of equipment malfunctions or breakdowns, contributing to root cause analysis and corrective action planning.

+ Support training initiatives related to equipment handling, preventive maintenance, and workplace safety.

+ Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teamsincluding Safety, Engineering, and Productionto promote a safe and efficient working environment.

+ Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned by the Maintenance team.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Currently enrolled in trade school or college program (preferred: industrial technology, engineering, construction, Electro-Mechanical or related field).

+ Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in maintenance or skilled trades.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

+ Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Graduating in May 2027

+ Previous internship or work experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

+ Familiarity with OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards, particularly in manufacturing or facility maintenance environments.

+ Proficiency in documenting maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment performance data.

+ Basic understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment commonly used in industrial maintenance.

Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
