Job Title: Automation Technician
Job Description
Join our team as a 1st shift Automation Technician, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting product-specific automated work cells. Your main objective will be to minimize downtime and optimize productivity through diligent maintenance and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and support automated work cells to minimize downtime.
+ Respond promptly to any downtime situations to ensure machine functionality.
+ Conduct preventative maintenance on all automated work cells.
+ Properly document maintenance activities and assess potential future maintenance needs.
+ Perform process verification procedures on automated work cells.
+ Follow process deviation procedures when changing parameters.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in editing, troubleshooting, and programming PLCs, especially Allen Bradley and Siemens controllers.
+ Experience with robotics, particularly Fanuc, Motorman, and Staubli.
+ Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and crash recovery for robots.
+ 5-7 years of experience in maintenance and preventive maintenance on automation equipment.
+ 5-7 years of experience in editing and programming PLCs.
+ 5-7 years of experience working with robotics equipment and end-of-arm tooling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with automation equipment troubleshooting and mechanical repair.
+ Knowledge of hydraulic repair and maintenance.
+ Electrical background is advantageous but not required.

Work Environment
This position is based in a production manufacturing environment. Employees may occasionally need to wear personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes. The work environment is fast-paced, encouraging collaboration and innovation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
