Job Title: Production Line Operator
Job Description
As a Production Line Operator, you will take the lead on the production line, handling tasks such as loading raw material steel coils and dies, monitoring in-process quality and production flow, and ensuring the quality of the finished product. This role involves operating in a highly automated environment, with responsibilities including loading machines using a forklift, overseeing the process via a control panel, and ensuring smooth operation and timely changeovers.
Responsibilities
+ Load the production line with raw materials including steel coils and dies.
+ Monitor the production flow and in-process quality to ensure a high-quality finished product.
+ Utilize a PLC/HMI touchscreen to operate production equipment.
+ Conduct quality checks using a tape measure and record results in Excel.
+ Understand and manage production runs based on color, stamp shape, and width.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues with the Servo and PLC to maintain line operation.
+ Lead the line with laborers on the 2nd shift, ensuring efficient teamwork.
+ Adapt to changes and unexpected issues to maintain production efficiency.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with sit-down forklifts, capable of moving 8,000-10,000 lb dies/coils.
+ Ability to stand for 8-10 hours a day, excluding breaks.
+ Proficiency in reading a tape measure for quality measurements.
+ Competency in data entry using Microsoft Excel.
+ Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment with a PLC-run program.
+ Ability to troubleshoot PLC and machine operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Steel-toed boots are mandatory, with a boot allowance provided upon full-time employment.
+ Experience with hand and power tools in a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment
This role is primarily on the 2nd shift (3 PM-11 PM), with training on the 1st shift (5 AM-3 PM) for 8-10 months. The work involves a mild manufacturing environment without AC, but large fans help maintain comfort. Expect to work alongside a long production line in a role that requires flexibility during peak seasons. PPE such as steel toes, long pants/jeans, gloves, and eye protection is required and provided. You may also experience flexible scheduling options, such as 4x10 shifts, to accommodate production needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainfield, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
