    Job Description

    Join our team at a prominent hospital, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing various plumbing systems and equipment. Your expertise will ensure the efficient operation of systems such as drainage, waste, vents, medical gases, and more, contributing to the safe and effective functioning of our healthcare facility.

    Responsibilities

    + Repair and install equipment and plumbing systems including valves, pumps, traps, faucets, and more.

    + Maintain plumbing systems such as drainage, waste, vent, medical gases, compressed air-vacuum, oxygen, steam supply and return, hot and cold water, kitchen equipment, and fire protection.

    + Ensure the smooth functioning of gas, water, air, steam, traps, valves, lines, and waste disposal systems within the hospital.

    + Install and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures by interpreting blueprints and written specifications.

    Essential Skills

    + Journeyman Plumber's License

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial facility; ideally 1 year in healthcare (not mandatory)

    + Proficiency in installing, repairing, altering, testing, and maintaining all plumbing and piping systems.

    + Knowledge of CMMS work order systems, preventive maintenance, building maintenance, and mechanical systems.

    + Ability to work with blueprints and understand piping, pumps, valves, and traps.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Understanding of building management systems (BMS).

    + Live within 1 hour of the hospital to ensure timeliness for on-call responsibilities.

    Work Environment

     

    Work within a 280,000 square foot hospital with 174 beds. The hospital environment requires adherence to safety standards and offers a dynamic and engaging atmosphere for skilled professionals. Dress code is professional attire suitable for a healthcare setting.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melrose, Massachusetts.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $46.00/hr.
