Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description
Join a dynamic team dedicated to refurbishing and servicing gearboxes. We seek a Mechanical Design Engineer to support our team in meeting client demands, ensuring high-quality refurbishment of gearboxes.
Responsibilities
+ Inspect gearboxes on the shop floor to determine refurbishment needs.
+ Specify jobs and input Bills of Materials into the ERP system (EPICORE).
+ Conduct engineering work, including 3D modeling and 2D sketches in Solidworks.
+ Perform calculations such as Finite Element Analysis, Load Analysis, and Stress Analysis.
+ Apply geometric tolerances (GD&T) to drawings.
+ Spend 50% of time working on the shop floor.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience with rotating equipment.
+ Proficiency in project engineering and customer-facing roles.
+ Experience with ERP systems, particularly EPICORE.
+ Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Word.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
+ US citizenship is required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with detailed design through fabrication.
+ Familiarity with assembly production and shaft design.
+ Project management capabilities.
+ Polished and strong communication skills.
Work Environment
The work culture is supportive, emphasizing the growth and development of each employee. The team values long-term commitment, with many employees having a long tenure. You will work in a cubicle in the main office area alongside other engineers, connected to a manufacturing facility. Expect to spend 50% of your day in the shop as needed. The role offers flexible hours, typically around 7am-4pm, averaging 40 hours per week. Be prepared for occasional overtime, including some Saturdays, with compensation through appreciation meals and paid hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HOUSTON, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $45.00/hr.
