    Job Title: Environmental Technician Job Description

     

    We are seeking a responsible, self-motivated, and energetic Environmental Technician to support field operations at various project sites, primarily located in the Midland and Pecos, Texas areas. This role involves operating and maintaining environmental remediation systems and overseeing construction activities. Candidates should be prepared to work on projects related to environmental investigation, remediation, and construction oversight at petroleum sites. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential. The position offers a collaborative work environment and competitive benefits.

    Responsibilities

    + Monitor and oversee construction activities with a focus on environmental compliance and safety.

    + Assist with operation and maintenance of site remediation systems.

    + Inspect system equipment to assess performance and identify issues.

    + Maintain system components to ensure proper function and regulatory compliance.

    + Collect samples from monitoring and recovery wells.

    + Record and evaluate system performance data.

    + Supervise subcontractors involved in remediation and system maintenance.

    Essential Skills

    + Positive, team-oriented attitude.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude.

    + Knowledge of environmental and health & safety regulations, with a commitment to regulatory and facility compliance.

    + Willingness to support project teams in delivering quality service and meeting deadlines and budgets.

    + Ability to perform physical tasks, including navigating outdoor terrain, lifting equipment, and climbing ladders.

    + Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for travel between sites (company vehicle may be provided).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with environmental remediation systems.

    + Experience in construction oversight and inspections.

    + Familiarity with environmental sampling techniques and equipment.

    + Valid OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification and 8-Hour Refresher (training available if not currently certified).

    Work Environment

    The position involves 8 to 10-hour workdays with travel to project sites within a two-hour radius. The role requires availability for year-round fieldwork, primarily outdoors.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
