Job Title: Level III Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Level III Machinist to join our expansive machine shop. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring metal parts to meet precise blueprint specifications. Your work will be integral to our production process, ensuring quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring all operations adhere to the control plan specifications.
+ Transport materials using forklifts and pallet jacks, and operate wash tanks.
+ Perform quality checks using dial gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools at every step of the production process.
+ Deburr parts and remove excess metal using air-powered tools.
+ Troubleshoot and solve everyday operational problems.
+ Maintain flexibility to operate various machines as needed.
+ Ensure compliance with quality, production, and housekeeping standards.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with CNC machines.
+ Proficiency in using quality measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial bores.
+ Strong mathematical skills, specifically in addition and subtraction for gauge readings.
+ Experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
+ Experience performing quality inspections on finished parts.
+ Deburring experience is preferred.

Work Environment
Our expansive machine shop is part of a temperature-controlled facility divided between assembly and machining areas. The dress code is relaxed, allowing for comfortable work attire while maintaining safety standards. Employees are required to wear PPE, including steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses, which are provided. The facility is clean, with safety as the utmost priority. Work shifts are flexible, with opportunities for overtime and weekend work to meet production demands.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
