Position: CAD Specialist Location: Cincinnati, OH (CVG Airport area) Description: Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the CAD Specialist supports engineering and manufacturing operations through the creation, modification, and management of technical drawings, models, and documentation. This position plays a critical role in translating engineering concepts into precise technical outputs that meet regulatory, quality, and customer requirements. The CAD Specialist collaborates with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of design packages that support certification, production, and aftermarket needs. Primary Responsibilities: Create and update 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and assemblies for aerospace components, harnesses, and systems. Interpret engineering specifications, sketches, and design requirements to produce accurate technical documentation. Ensure all drawings and models comply with AS9100, FAA, and company design standards. Revise and maintain engineering change documentation in coordination with the Configuration Management team. Collaborate with engineers and project managers to support design reviews, certification efforts, and production readiness. Provide CAD support for manufacturing, including tooling, work instructions, and fixture designs. Assist with bill of materials (BOM) generation and data entry into ERP and PLM systems. Maintain drawing libraries, templates, and CAD standards to ensure consistency across projects. Support quality and compliance audits by preparing and presenting accurate drawing records. Train and support team members in proper CAD usage when required. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred). Minimum 2 years of experience in CAD drafting or design support, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing. Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or equivalent). Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality standards and FAA certification requirements preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with ERP/PLM systems is a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Required: Strong time-management and organizational skills. Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug testing. Must be able to pass TSA/CVG background check to obtain and maintain TSA/CVG badging. Work Environment Office-based with routine collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. Occasional visits to production areas and customer or supplier sites.
