    Job Details

    The Telephone Operator acts as primary public contact in performance of computerized telephone operator duties.

    Responsibilities:

    + Operate computerized telephone console; answer incoming calls; route calls to proper departments as needed

    + Adhere to patient privacy policies at all times

    + Enter changes/updates to shifts and on-call schedules as needed by phone or secure chat, contact interns and residents for outside calls, units and codes.

    + Announce codes properly, notify fire department, police and appropriate hospital personnel, disaster drill and bomb threat drill.

    + Assists concierge when needed

    + Contacts Hospitalist Physicians for admissions and consults

    Requirements:

    + Knowledge of MS Office products (word, Outlook); strong communication skills and ability to multi-task.

    + Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations

    + Must be able to operate a telephone answering console (switchboard)\

    + High School Graduate or equivalent

    + Typing necessary

    + At least one year, console experience preferred.

    + Strong computer skills required

    + Knowledge of EPIC helpful

     

    Salary Range

     

    USD $22.00 - USD $24.00 /Hr.

     

    This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
