    Job Details

    The Lead Medical Technologist performs various biochemical, microscopic and/or Blood Bank tests to obtain data for use in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of disease and acts as supervisor in the absence of the department supervisor.

    Responsibilities:

    + Prepares specimens for examination, performs a variety of routine and/or complex laboratory tests and procedures and reports results.

    + Troubleshoots basic instrumentation, technical problems and methodologies.

    + Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.

    + Monitors the department's quality control policies and ensures documentation of all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.

    + Ensures that departmental supplies are stocked and well maintained.

    + Monitors service priorities and workflow patterns to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services

    + Evaluates departmental performance and recommends measures to improve services

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school.

    + Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist under the NYS Department of Education required.

    + Four to Six years successful experience as a Medical Technologist preferred.

    + Demonstrate leadership ability and general knowledge of laboratory operations. Experience in all laboratory areas is preferred.

    + Good oral and written communication skills are required.

     

    Salary Range

     

    USD $58.54 - USD $73.59 /Hr.

     

    This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
