    Summary:

    The fiber optic technician will perform a variety of tasks to support fiber optic installations, such as cable management, troubleshooting, fusion splicing, and testing and is capable of reading and understanding communications designs and matrices.

    Requirements:

    + Testing & Troubleshooting Fiber Optic Networks

    + Cable Routing and Management

    + Cable Termination

    + Power Meter Testing

    + Network Documentation

    + Visual Fault Locator

    + Splicing Fiber Optic Cables

    + Fiber Optic Cable Installation

    + OTDR Testing

    + Fusion Splicing

    + Knowledge of reading and understanding communication diagrams

    + Knowledge of OPGW cable splicing and enclosure build-outs

    + Problem solving, communication, analytical skills, attention to detail, physical stamina

    Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma/GED required.

    + Valid Driver’s License required.

    + 6 months – 1 year of related experience required.

    + Fiber Optics Training program preferred.

    + Strong understanding of fiber optics theory and applications required.

    + Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment required.

     

    Anticipated base salary range: $32.00 - $40.00

     

    The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

     

    Per Diem of $100.00 daily to cover lodging, meals and travel during rotation.
