The opportunity:

The Sr Mgr, IT Programs Operations will drive operational and program activities within IT Business Solutions. This role involves strategic portfolio management, ensuring the success of projects through program management, coordination, and oversight. Responsibilities include managing project portfolios, driving initiatives, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and with quality. Additionally, the role involves financial management, coordinating budgets, forecasts, and tracking top-level objectives and key results (OKRs).

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

* Collaborate with senior leadership to define future processes and address operational opportunities.

* Build relationships with key stakeholders to drive decisions and ensure timely project completion.

* Manage project portfolios and advance IT standards, methods, and procedures.

* Provide oversight to ensure teams deliver value throughout the project cycle.

* Oversee the financial operating model.

* Coordinate IT activities for mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture

What you need to succeed:

* Candidate must be a team player, adapt well to a multitasking, fast-paced environment and maintain a courteous and professional image.

* Adapt to changing priorities, demands and timelines, and effectively coordinate multiple projects with interrelated teams and technology issues simultaneously within aggressive timelines.

* Excellent communication skills, ability to relate to users in business terms and relate technical solutions to business needs, ability to express ideas clearly and succinctly.

* Influence and drive consensus.

* Strong financial acumen/experience.

* Work cooperatively in a collaborative IT environment to develop and execute plans including but not limited to; detailed project schedules, project estimates, resource plans, status reports, track key project milestones, and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet needs of business stakeholders.

* Manage expectations and handle difficult situations.

* Outstanding organizational skills required.

Skills/Knowledge Desired:

* Ability to travel approximately 10%.

* College degree or minimum equivalent work experience of 10 years in IT or paper mill operations.

* Project Management (PMP) and/or Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus.
