    Job Description

    Become part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. team in the role of Packaging and Labeling Technician I, kickstarting a highly fulfilling career journey. Your input will play a vital role in advancing our goal of promoting global health, sustainability, and safety!

    Key Responsibilities:

    + General assembly of Thermo Fisher products, including processing work orders, building kits, labeling products, printing and folding instruction booklets, and assisting other Packaging Associates.

    + Arrange and run packaging and labeling machinery to guarantee seamless operation.

    + Process label work orders for manufacturing departments, travelers, and other documents requiring printing.

    + Handle jobs using less complex equipment, such as pipettors, stretch wrapping, and automated labelers.

    + Complete required paperwork related to Packaging/Labeling, including Batch Record Sheets, Engineering Change Notices, deviations, Traveler, Antibody Template, label documents, and Bill of Materials audits.

    + Develop and understand material process flow, covering raw material, staging, Work In Process, paperwork, storage areas, and general production steps.

    + Successfully implement and process jobs independently or as part of a team.

    + Assist in Quality Control/Peer Review with in-process and finished goods inspections.

    + Perform calibration and preventative maintenance of packaging equipment.

    + Cross-train and help in other departments as needed.

    + Take on additional tasks and projects as determined by the Supervisor/Manager.

    Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

    + A minimum of 4 months experience in a biochemical/pharmaceutical packaging environment, preferred.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment towards common goals.

    + Must be able to work independently and in a variety of environments.

    + Foundational mechanical competence and PC abilities.

    + Good verbal and written communication skills.

    + Strong multitasking abilities and drive toward continual improvement.

    + Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment when required.

    + Physical ability to stand/walk constantly and lift/move up to 50 pounds.

     

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $13.31–$22.18.
