Office of Teaching & Learning - Numeracy
Job Focus Area
This Education Consultant 4 is a senior staff position located within the Numeracy Division and serves as the Numeracy Professional Learning project coordinator. This position reports to the classified Director of Math (Education Consultant Supervisor). This position serves as a subject matter authority on math professional learning and as a lead consultant responsible for managing the development and implementation of required numeracy professional learning, which includes but is not limited to program management, program development, planning, implementation, data collection, dissemination, and budgetary management.
Applicants with the following skills and experience are encouraged to apply:
+ In-depth, current knowledge of content standards, curriculum, and assessment as related to mathematics
+ Experience teaching mathematics and/or serving as a mathematics content expert
+ Ability to work well with others
+ Efficient and effective use of various software systems (Excel, Google docs, google sheets, etc.)
+ Experience in collaborating with multiple stakeholders to deliver a common and consistent message to the field in support of Louisiana’s social studies goals
+ Previous project management experience
Minimum Qualifications
Eight years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As an Education Consultant 4, you'll help to support numeracy instruction and professional learning experiences for educators and students across our state. In this role, you will:
+ Support the implementation of the required K-8 numeracy professional learning as required by Act 260 (2023) and Act 353 (2025)
+ Coordinate K-12 numeracy professional learning programs with internal and external units, vendors, and stakeholders
+ Develop and deliver professional learning and support to math teachers and students statewide using quality math resources and tools
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Work Schedule: Work days are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant series have a special entrance rate that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career andnot the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire .
