    Job Summary

    The College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC ) at Auburn University, a comprehensive land-grant and research institution, invites applications for the position of an **Academic Advisor.** This position is part of a dedicated team located in the CADC’s Office of Student Services, advising students on course selections, explaining university policies, assisting with registration, maintaining student records, and supporting orientations to help students meet their educational goals. The Academic Advisor reports directly to the Director of Student Services and works closely with the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture to support students.

    TheCADC is comprised of three schools: School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture, the McWhorter School of Building Science, and the School of Industrial Graphic Design. These academic units offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs that are consistently recognized nationally and internationally for their academic excellence and innovations in the fields of design, construction, and related education.     TheCADC Office of Student Services seeks candidates who are interested in working in a collaborative environment to oversee consistent application of advising policies and procedures and conduct comprehensive academic, career and other student support services.

    Essential Functions

    + Advises students regarding goals, policies, curriculum choices, course load and scheduling, academic actions, and problem resolution; provides referrals as necessary.

    + Explains university policies, procedures, and curricula to students, faculty, and staff.

    + Collaborates to deliver information about educational options and university policies to students in a timely manner.

    + Assists with and coordinates registration procedures.

    + Prepares schedule adjustments, including verifying transient student requests and assisting with course articulation.

    + Evaluates, updates, and maintains student records in compliance with state and federal laws and university regulations to monitor progress, advise on courses of study, and process graduation checks.

    + Supports student orientations for first-year and transfer students, including Camp War Eagle and Successfully Orienting Students.

    + Assists with on-campus recruitment activities.

    + Employs technology to enhance advising effectiveness.

    + Participates in professional development and builds connections with departments and faculty.

    + Uses independent judgement in routine situations.

    + Performs additional duties as assigned.

    Bachelor’s degree in no specific discipline with 0 years of experience with a focus of student-related advising or academic counseling.

     

    _Typical salaries will fall between $43,040 – $49,180_

     

    Full salary range is $36,520-$54,780

    Level II:

    Bachelor’s degree in no specific discipline with 3 years of experience with a focus of student-related advising or academic counseling.

    OR

    Master’s degree in no specific discipline with 2 years of experience with a focus of student-related advising or academic counseling.

     

    _Typical salaries will fall between $47,340 – $54,100_

     

    Full salary range is $40,170-$60,260

    LevelIII :

    Bachelor’s degree in no specific discipline with 5 years of experience with a focus of student-related advising or academic counseling.

    OR

    Master’s degree in no specific discipline with 4 years of experience with a focus of student-related advising or academic counseling.

     

    _Typical salaries will fall between $54,500 – $60,080_

     

    Full salary range is $42,490-$67,990
