Special Education Teacher – Middle School (Maternity Coverage)

Position Summary:

Amergis Staffing is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support a middle school classroom with moderate disabilities. This is a maternity coverage position in a self-contained setting with a caseload of 6 non-verbal students, supported by 2 teaching assistants. The teacher will work under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator and collaborate with general education staff to implement individualized student programs.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Deliver specialized instruction to students with moderate disabilities

+ Collaborate with general education staff and support personnel

+ Participate in planning and implementation of IEPs

+ Provide tutorial assistance and consultation as needed

+ Maintain compliance with all professional standards and regulations

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (required)

+ Out-of-state certifications must be eligible for reciprocity and proof of filing must be provided upon offer

+ Minimum of 1 year teaching experience (preferred)

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Modality: Middle School, Moderate Self-Contained

+ Caseload: 6 students, non-verbal, supported by 2 TAs

+ Amergisum Weekly Hours: 40
