Salary: $2000 / Week

Special Education Teacher | $43/hr + $1,000 Sign-On Bonus | Full-Time | High School | Inner City Chicago | Aug 2025–June 2026

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking multiple Special Education Teachers to support high school students across inner city areas of Chicago. These full-time, in-person roles begin August 2025 and run through the end of the school year, offering $43/hour and a $1,000 sign-on bonus (paid after 30 days).

Position Overview:

+ Location: Multiple high schools across inner city Chicago

+ Start Date: August 2025

+ End Date: End of school year (June 2026)

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday

+ Hours: 40/week (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, paid breaks)

+ Modality: In-person

+ Interview: Virtual

Classroom Details:

+ Grade Level: High School

+ Student Population: Primarily students with Learning Disabilities (LD)

+ Socioeconomic Context: High poverty, generational trauma, inner city environments

+ Settings: Combination of self-contained and resource classrooms

+ Resource: Co-taught, larger class sizes

+ Self-contained: Small group or independent instruction for targeted subjects

Key Responsibilities:

+ Deliver specialized instruction and behavioral support to students with IEPs

+ Collaborate with general education staff and participate in student program planning

+ Provide tutorial assistance and consult with support teams

+ Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

+ Valid Illinois teaching certificate

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ State Teacher Certification: Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)

+ CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
