    Position Summary

    Lincoln County Parole and Probation is looking for a Senior Parole and Probation Technician. This person will assist with Transitional Independence Dedicated Education and Sobriety (TIDES) house duties, provide supervision of Work Crew Foremen, and coordinate staff scheduling. They are also responsible for assisting Parole and Probation Officers (POs) with managing electronic detention.

     

    $31.15 - $41.85 per hour*

    Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

    Transition Center:

    + Assist in Intake and orientation of new residents at transition center.

    + Check in with residents daily to coordinate plans.

    + Lead classes at a TIDES house for residents and adults on supervision (AOS).

    + Coordinate with POs regarding residents.

    Manage AOS’s treatment plans and programming of participants:

    + Interview AOS and provides referrals to resources and treatment programs.

    + Assist POs with monitoring and tracking client medication as prescribed.

    + Adhere to county and department policies and procedures as well as safe workplace practices, policies and procedures.

    Maintain security, order & schedule activities within the center:

    + Develop plans and prioritize jobs for the work crew to complete.

    + Provide supervision of Work Crew Foremen as needed.

    + Maintain schedule for work crew staff, in consideration of scheduled jobs.

    + Develop and maintains effective working relationships with other staff, public officials, and the general public.

    Typical Qualifications

    Minimum Education Level

     

    Associates and/or Professional Certification in the behavior science field.

     

    Minimum Experience Level

     

    Two- Three years in a criminal justice, behavioral health, or social services field.

     

    Driver’s License

     

    Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.

    Knowledge of:

    + Oregon Revised Statues and Oregon Department of Corrections Rules and Procedures. Work is of considerable complexity in diverse work situations. Decisions are made with state laws and policy constraints.

    + Motivational interviewing techniques

    + Safety procedures and practices including First aid.

    Skill or ability to:

    + Maintain CJIS clearance.

    + Utilize de-escalation techniques.

    + Facilitate life skills training and coaching.

    + Safely and effectively operate power and hand tools, gardening and lawn equipment and light equipment such as pickup trucks, passenger van with utility trailer, and tractors.

    + Plan and coordinate the work of others, effectively counsel, encourage, motivate, and supervise persons having attitudinal and behavioral problems.

    + Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

    + Convey information, ideas, and facts both orally and in writing to supervisors, colleagues, and individuals, inside and outside the county, using language and a format the audience will best understand.

    + Utilize computers and other technology to communicate in written and verbal forms (e.g., word processing, texts, emails, spreadsheets, department-specific software).

    + Effectively relate well with others, including supervisors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the county. Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and working to maintain constructive working relationships.

    + Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work. Show up to work on time, and follows instructions, policies, and procedures. Meet productivity standards, deadlines, and work schedules.

    Lincoln County offers a comprehensive benefit package including vacation, holiday, and sick leave as well as medical, dental, vision which is paid at 90% by the County and 10% by the employee. Other fully paid benefits include life, AD&D, long-term disability insurance. Other optional insurances are available. A 401K retirement plan is also provided. The County's current contribution rate is 11%.

     

    Regular and Trial Service employees working between 20 and 39 hours per week on a regular basis are eligible for pro-rated employee benefits.
