TheSchool Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional,and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special educationdepartment, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may alsoprovide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobilityand therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation healthpractitioner, social worker or other health care professional.

JobDescription:

ProgramLeaders work directly with students in grade level groups. Here are somebullets that can provide some information about typical tasks:

+ Plans and delivers educational literacy, physical fitness, and academic enrichment activities

+ Assists in enforcing safety and disciplinary rules in classrooms or playground

+ Informs the Youth Specialist of student progress and or challenges

+ Observes and records information about student behavior when necessary

+ Assists with the maintenance of a clean, healthy, and safe environment of the after school facilities

+ Administers first aid or necessary physical assistance to ill or distressed students

+ Supervises 20 students, leading groups through educational and extracurricular activities

+ Verifies s student attendance various times throughout the program day

+ Distributes snack/meal items during supper time

+ Minimum Requirements:

+ High School diploma or equivalent required

+ Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice

+ Current CPR if applicable

+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
