    Job Title: Scraper Operator

    Job Description

    The scraper operator is responsible for cutting to grade, driving across the terrain to scrape earth into a holding bowl for removal or relocation. This role involves working in the cut, managing fill, and leveling terrain for the Finish Dozer hands to fine grade to completion. **$830 weekly per diem for travellers.**

    Responsibilities

    + Operate MTS 3630 Wheeled or Track Scrapers, MTS 745 with pan, CAT 627 or CAT 637 for rough grading work.

    + Perform pre-inspection and end-of-day inspection of machinery, reporting any concerns to management.

    + Ensure proper operation of scraper components including the tractor, apron, scraper, bowl, and ejector.

    + Manage the terrain leveling to prepare for fine grading.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience operating scrapers on a commercial job site involving mass grading.

    + Proficiency in heavy civil construction and earthmoving.

    + Experience with belly scraper and heavy equipment operation.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Valid driver's license and ability to be insured for operating company vehicles.

    + Familiarity with paddle wheel operations is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a civil construction site with a high degree of safety protocols to follow as per OSHA standards. The environment is a wide-open space with lots of activity, requiring excellent communication and awareness.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Lunas, New Mexico.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
