    POSITION PURPOSE:

    This position is responsible for administering inventory and production control planning in support of the production schedule. The planner is responsible for creating and maintaining production orders, tracking, and updating late sales orders and transfer orders utilizing BC (Business Central/Nav) methodologies to meet the daily production requirements.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    + Validate Stock through BC (Business Central/Nav) recommendations daily and issue production orders and transfer orders accordingly.

    + Communicate effectively with all levels, relaying all critical info. Interface with Customer Service Department, Production Supervisors, Warehouse Personnel, Buyers, and Sales Personnel.

    + Expedite the flow of materials from initial order through procurement, receipt, inspection, production, and shipment of the end product when needed.

    + Release production orders for manufacturing.

    + Change the quantity and timing of production orders and requisitions as required by changes to inventory or demand.

    + Ensure materials are available to meet manufacturing build requirements.

    + Assists in prioritizing the production schedule.

    + Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.

    + Ensure a clean and organized work environment.

    + Adhere to all company standards and policies.

    + Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    + Possesses knowledge of MRP and operations flow.

    + Requires the ability to plan, evaluate, and control material flow and manufacturing processes.

    + Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and the capacity to learn new systems.

    + Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and effective organizational skills.

    + Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

    + Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships.

    + Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong teamwork.

    + Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.

    + Basic ability to understand blueprints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.

    + Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Required:

    + Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.

    + Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar manufacturing setting.

    Preferred:

    + Advanced degree.

    + Shop environment experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing practices.

    + Experience with Business Central/Microsoft Navision (BC/NAV) software.

    The employee must regularly lift up to 60 pounds and move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

     

    The employee may be required to work with hazardous materials. The employee may be exposed to hot surfaces, hot air, electrical hazards, and flames. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works with moving machinery and occasionally in outside weather.
