    SUMMARY

    Directs the oversight and maintenance of the elements of the systematic approach to training for all accredited and non-accredited training programs. Develops new and enhances existing training program procedures and descriptions. Conducts comprehensive training program evaluations (self-assessments) to verify training meets the performance objectives and criteria for accreditation.

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Education or Technical Studies. (Preferred)

    • Without the above degree, 5 years of experience in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs or direct experience within an accredited training program in the commercial nuclear industry may be considered.

    Instructor Tech Training Assoc

    • No experience required

    Technologist Instructional

    • 2 Years experience in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs in the commercial nuclear industry. (Required)

    • Military or other industry experience may be substituted 2 for 1 (up to 3 yrs credit) on a case-by-case basis verifying comparable responsibilities may be considered.

    Instructor Tech Training Sr

    • 5 Years experience in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs in the commercial nuclear industry. (Required)

    • Military or other industry experience may be substituted 2 for 1 (up to 3 yrs credit) on a case-by-case basis verifying comparable responsibilities may be considered.

    Instructor Tech Training Staff

    • 8 Years experience in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs in the commercial nuclear industry. (Required)

    Instructor Tech Training Consult

    • 10 Years experience in the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of training programs in the commercial nuclear industry. (Required)

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

    • Training Instructor Certification (Preferred)

    • Procedure Writer Qualified (Preferred)

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Assists in the maintenance of the elements of the Systematic Approach to Training for all accredited and non-accredited training programs.

     

    • Assists in implementing and enhancing the Systematic Approach to Training (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) processes and procedures for the South Texas Project's training programs.

    • Assists in converting analysis results into training materials such as objectives, training program descriptions, lesson plans, job performance measures, and evaluation instruments.

    • Assists instructors in the identification of appropriate instructional strategies and settings, development of instructional materials, and construction of evaluation instruments.

    • Participates in the selection and/or preparation of qualified instructors.

    • Evaluates training programs and instructors based upon academic soundness and industry standards for accreditation.

    • Participates in Training Team, Training Advisory Committee, Senior Training Council, Executive Training Review Board, Training Corrective Action Review Board, and other Training Department meetings, as assigned.

    • Assists in the identification and development of required procedures and documentation.

    • Coordinates training self-assessments associated with training program accreditation renewal, including scheduling, preparation, team support, and post-assessment follow-up activities.

    • Coordinates training accreditation renewal activities for all accredited training programs. This includes scheduling, preparation, team support, and follow-up activities.

    • Assists in the maintenance and implementation of ADDIE products within the VISION database.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Accept ERO position as needed.

    • Accept outage position as needed.

    • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.

    • Ability to achieve and maintain instructor certifications and applicable discipline specific qualifications and certifications to meet regulatory and accreditation requirements.

    SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Working knowledge of the systematic approach to training and a clear understanding of how to implement performance-based training.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.

    • Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.

    • Travel may be required.

    • May be required to carry a phone.

    • Some plant tours and the hazards associated with each.

    ENVIROMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Environmental & Physical requirements require the ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the defined role; ascending, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs; working in confined spaces; moving safely over uneven or slippery terrain; working in proximity to loud equipment and possible inclement weather/temperature conditions.

    WORK LOCATION

    • Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
