Department - Central Fee Abstraction Corp
Location- 2 Bala Plaza
Hours - M-F, 8 hr days, hybrid
Summary:
+ Act as a liaison between Coding and CPUP departments. Responsible for monitoring and overseeing all non-clinical audits. Reviews patient medical records after they are coded to ensure the Coders from various vendors assigned the appropriate bill areas and billing departments. Responsibilities include monthly reconciliation, vendor invoice tracking and monitoring of productivity, verifying RVUs (Relative Value Units) are assigned to the appropriate clinician to calculate physician compensation, acccurate AU distribution and variance explanation. Performs productivity tracking for vendors, coding and auditing areas of the department. Maintains all departmental volume statistic reporting regarding coding, as coders are paid per chart. Supports coding and operations through report review and tracking, and assists in any other areas where scrutiny and judgment are required. Oversees two workques in EPIC regarding unbillable provider notes and will contact IT for physicians with missing default departments. Responsible for corresponding with vendors, CPUP and CCA for staffing and coding.
Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for the monthly accrual report to ensure proper allocation of resources for planning and expenditures. This includes validating for accuracy and appropriate distribution by AU, entity and departments.
+ Perform randomized monthly audits and do charge corrections for CCA/CPUP practices.
+ Generate a weekly report based on provider opportunities by entity and reason.
+ Work closely with the Associate Director to onboard new staff in department and vendors.
+ Closely monitor queues to make sure vendors are meeting turn around times.
+ Generate all necessary reports out of Business Objects and Workbench and extrapolate the productivity for all auditing and coding personnel.
+ Ensure receipt of all outsource vendor invoices. Reach out and contact each vendor who is delayed in providing the necessary information. Load all corresponding detail, by vendor and entity, into Excel worksheets for tracking, monitoring and for future budget planning.
+ Keep track of all staff continuing education credits.
+ Order supplies and equipment for department, as needed.
+ Arrange education sessions for staff.
+ Participate in any other reporting and/or auditing activities as requested by management.
+ Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures
+ Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization
Credentials:
+ Registered Health Information Administrator/Registered Health Information Technician (RHIA or RHIT). (Preferred)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ H.S. Diploma/GED. (Required)
+ 3+ years of administrative/relevant office experience. Experience working with Electronic Health Records, within a medical records department, or working with financial management and budgets. Experience working with analytics. (Required)
