The Senior Manager, Analytics actively leads and participates with a team to create and implement sophisticated analytics and provide support for strategic and business decision-making. He/She will work collaboratively with stakeholders from across the organization to provide information, insights and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that contribute to sound strategic planning, decision-making, goal setting, and effective performance measurement. This role will direct and manage large cross-functioning data projects and are responsible for all aspects of data sourcing, migration, quality, design, and implementation. This position aligns and oversees the management, development, and integration of data analytics and business intelligence necessary to support the mission, vision strategies, objectives and goals of business.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Researches and investigates key business problems through quantitative analyses using financial, operational and/or healthcare data. Provides management with statistical findings and conclusions.
+ Helps identify and understand data from internal and external sources for competitive, scenario and performance analyses, and financial modeling to gain member/provider insight into new and existing processes and business opportunities.
+ Consults with and directs stakeholders to appropriate healthcare analytics and value-added information. Works to build and recommend data and business solutions that improve day-to-day operations and strategic decisions.
+ Leads and develops projects focused on utilization management trends which help find insights in the data and work with clinical and administrative stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve and ultimately measure their effectiveness.
+ Effectively communicates with stakeholders and customers and ensures all requests are properly triaged, recorded and tracked. Identifies requirements for reporting and / or business intelligence tools.
+ Manages the team and engagement production, developing project scope, conclusions, and recommendations.
+ Serves as subject matter expert and consultant for analytics within the scope of partner COEs.
+ Leads and supports developers to ensure project deadlines are met, insights are communicated clearly, and stakeholders are satisfied with deliverables.
+ Monitors data for assigned Analytics team; works with Analytics leadership and stakeholders to identify and provide strategies to execute improvement opportunities.
+ Collaborates with business leadership to develop and implement new strategies to enhance analytic offerings.
+ Builds strong and trusting relationships with leaders to support problem solving and ensure overall awareness of issues and challenges.
+ Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
+ High business acuity and insight
+ Advanced knowledge and expertise in data extraction and analytical programming languages (SQL & Python) and data visualization tools e.g., QlikSense, Power BI and the ability to perform queries and retrieve data from multiple tables and/or sources
+ Proven success with analyzing clinical, claims, pharmacy, program and other administrative data utilization, costs and quality and application of that knowledge to drive strategic decision-making
+ Broad knowledge and understanding of general analytics and business functions, practices, processes, procedures, techniques and methods
+ Ability to interpret the needs of organization and provide insight through analyses of claims and internal resources
+ Conceptual thinker; analytical, independent worker, and fast learner Proven attention to detail and high level of prioritization, organization, and accuracy
+ Ability to manage multiple projects with varying levels of complexity
+ Ability to prepare, review, and consolidate data findings for Executive Committee
+ Advanced to expert knowledge of health plan operations, data sources and data structures, including trends and drivers of quality, utilization and costs
+ Ability to create or automate processes with data is a strong plus (e.g., data driven websites, programing skills, SQL, Python, Qlik, Power BI, deep knowledge of macros, etc.)
+ Ability to lead conceptualization, development and execution of new deliverables and enhancements to existing deliverables
+ Strong analytical, quantitative skills, and problem-solving skills
+ Very good project management skills
+ Proven ability to create and deliver communications (written and verbal) and presentations to audiences at all levels in the organization
+ Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to partner, influence, consult and collaborate with all levels in the organization
+ Proven ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities; exceptional time management and organizational skill
+ Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and nationwide up to 10% of the time
+ Spoken and written fluency in English
+ This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
+ Bachelor’s degree with major in quantitative fields such as engineering, economics, finance, mathematics required; additional experience above the minimum may be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basis
+ Graduate education or planned future graduate level work preferred
+ A minimum of six (6) years of related experience including one (1) years of experience in a leadership role
+ Experience with advanced analytical and reporting software (e.g., Power BI, SSRS)
+ Experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
+ Experience in Medicare Advantage data analytics and strategy planning preferred
+ Experience in creating or automating processes with data is preferred
