Work Location : Great Falls, Helena, or Butte MT

Pay range : $20.00 - $21.00/hour (first year interns $20.00/hour, returning interns $21.00/hour)

Employment Status: Temporary (May - August full-time, 40 hours per week)

(September - December part-time, up to 20 hours per week)

About this position:

Intern will provide general safety support to the Hydro Operation and Maintenance departments. The intern will work in both the office and field environment.

About this job:

+ Conduct research, document and develop reports

+ Provide assistance to Company safety professionals and conduct ergonomic evaluations, work site inspections, safety meeting presentations, industrial hygiene sampling (e.g. noise, indoor air quality) field inspections, visits, etc.; capacity projects and develop job hazard analysis support, behavioral safety support, safety audits, hazard communication, respirator hazards in the workplace, performance of employee sampling for air containments and VPP objectives.

+ May be requested to conduct research on various safety/health related issues

+ Participate in organizational work meetings

+ Lifting of materials up to 35 pounds

+ Travel within the service territory 15% of time

+ Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills

+ Proficient in Microsoft office excel, word, and access data base

+ Prefer Occupational Safety and Health and/or Industrial Hygiene Degree

+ Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record

+ Student must have completed Sophomore level or higher by stated date

+ Must be in good academic standing

+ Must Provide GPA in application materials

+ Must have personal housing availability in work locations
