    Senior Scientist

     

    Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a **Senior Scientist with bioreactor and cell culture expertise** to join our team in Irvine, CA. In this role, you’ll help advance novel vaccines, advanced therapies, and regenerative medicine breakthroughs by collaborating with top biotech and pharmaceutical partners.

     

    Duration: 3-month contract (potential for conversion)

     

    Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

     

    Pay Rate: $55–$58/hour

    Key Responsibilities

    + Design and execute experimental strategies for new product and technology development.

    + Lead and conduct bioreactor and cell culture studies to support product development.

    + Operate and optimize bench-top bioreactors (10 mL – 3 L)

    + Support development of new cell culture media products and contribute to assay development as needed.

    + Work with a variety of cell lines, including CHO, HEK, and immune cells.

    + Mentor junior scientists in bioreactor operations and cell culture techniques.

    + Partner with marketing and product teams by:

    + Delivering presentations and contributing to publications.

    + Engaging with key customers and collaborators.

    + Participating in scientific conferences.

    + Contribute to long-term R&D planning initiatives.

    + Maintain and expand scientific expertise in alignment with company products and strategic goals.

    Qualifications

    + Education:

    + M.S. with 8+ years of relevant experience, OR

    + Ph.D. with 0–5 years of experience in Life Science, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or related field.

    + Experience:

    + Minimum 3 years of direct bioreactor operation.

    + Hands-on experience with small-scale bioreactors (10 mL – 3 L)

    + Broad scientific knowledge across Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Microbiology.

    + Proven ability to develop and conduct new assays as needed.

    + Nice to Have:

    + Experience with larger or pilot-scale systems is a plus.

    + Proficiency with CHO and HEK cell lines, with interest or experience in immune cells.
