    WSP USA is initiating a search for a Vice President, Environmental Energy Project Manager to join our California Earth and Environment Team! We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with 12+ years of experience managing energy infrastructure siting, routing, permitting, and construction compliance projects. The ideal candidate has experience with electric transmission lines and substations, energy generation and transmission projects, and midstream pipelines with demonstrated success in both project/program management and business development.

    Your Impact

    + Serve as project/program for projects within our California energy portfolio

    + Manage multidisciplinary projects in various geographic locations and phases of development including routing/siting, impact assessment, permitting, and construction compliance

    + Client coordination and project financial performance including preparing and monitoring project scope, budget, schedule, and forecasting

    + Expand existing client portfolios and establish new leads.

    + Support proposal preparation for task orders and/or new contracts

    + Participate in and contribute to annual strategic business planning

    + Lead collection of environmental field resource data collection along with preparation of environmental document and permit applications; coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for project permitting

    + Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams which could include engineers, attorneys, planners, GIS analysts, permitting and environmental resource specialists, land agents, and construction compliance monitors

    + Communicate with the public and community stakeholders at hearings and public meetings.

    + Implement corporate and project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs, including methodology and document review, participation in field reviews, project compliance inspections, and site meetings

     

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience.)

    + 12+ years of professional experience managing environmental impact assessment, licensing, and permitting in California, preferably related to utility infrastructure development and operations

    + Extensive knowledge and demonstrated expertise with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and related federal and state laws and regulations (e.g., Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.) is required

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients, and overseeing project staff and subcontractors

    + Travel up to 30% of the time for client, project, and internal meetings.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Professional certifications as applicable to technical expertise

    + Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental licensing & permitting regulations to facilitate energy infrastructure projects in California

    Compensation

     

    Expected Salary: $135,900- $214,940 (all locations)

     

    WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
