Description
The Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry invites applications for a part-time/full-time (80-100% FTE), academic professional track (non-tenure) faculty position with an 11-month appointment, beginning Spring 2026 (start date negotiable). The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. We seek an educator and clinician with specialized expertise in orofacial pain and temporomandibular disorders (TMD) to contribute to both predoctoral (DDS) and advanced education programs, including the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) and Graduate Prosthodontics.
As a faculty member, responsibilities include:
• Coordinate and supervise clinical activities related to orofacial pain management.
• Provide didactic and clinical instruction in predoctoral and postdoctoral programs, including interprofessional education.
• Evaluate student professionalism, clinical progress, and performance; provide academic counseling and mentorship.
• Deliver patient care focused on TMD and orofacial pain within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Participate in departmental research and scholarly activities
• Contribute to curriculum development and educational innovation, integrating technology and evidence-based practices.
• Engage in service to the department, college, and university
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• DDS, DMD, or equivalent dental degree.
• Completion of a CODA-accredited residency program in Oral Medicine or Orofacial Pain.
• Minimum of three years of clinical dental practice experience.
• Eligible for dental licensure in the State of Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
• Board certification in Orofacial Pain or Oral Medicine.
• Experience in interprofessional education and collaborative care models.
• A record of scholarly activity in the field of orofacial pain/TMD or related area.
• Strong educational and evidence-based practice knowledge and skills.
• Current or previous academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher, with demonstrated experience in predoctoral dental education.
• Experience with sleep apnea management.
