    We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety and Environment Advisor for an on-site High Voltage EHS position at a Brownfield Live High Voltage Substation project in Santa Clara, located north of San Jose, adjacent to the San Francisco 49ers Football Stadium. This opportunity is available as either a project consulting or permanent position, with the current project spanning from September 2025 to December 2027. There is potential for relocation to another project upon completion.

    Responsibilities

    + Visually inspect all construction activities daily to ensure alignment with Safety & Environmental code requirements per CAL/OSHA & CalEPA.

    + Lead the on-site safety culture to maintain a safe working environment.

    + Identify non-conformance items in daily reports and communicate them appropriately.

    + Provide clearly written daily Safety & Environmental inspection reports in Word & PDF formats.

    + Develop and maintain a relationship with the general contractor’s personnel to support an efficient and safe work site.

    + Communicate effectively with the on-site Construction Manager to confirm Safety & Environmental procedures and address non-conformance items.

    + Effectively communicate on-site Safety & Environmental issues to management.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 5 years (ideally 10+) experience as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Lead and/or Manager.

    + Experience working in live high-voltage substations with knowledge of Electrical safety and NFPA 70E.

    + Designation of Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or equivalent certificate.

    + Completion of Cal/OSHA 30 Hour training course.

    + Current First Aid/CPR certification.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Energy Isolation Certification is considered an asset.

    + Excavation and Trenching Competent Person Safety Certification is an asset.

    + Local residency to Santa Clara/San Jose, CA for project duration.

    Work Environment

    The position requires work on-site at a substation with both existing and new construction. The expected work schedule is likely to be 5 to 6 days per week, with 10-hour shifts. The role involves overseeing both the safety culture and compliance with regulatory standards in a dynamic and live construction environment.

    This is a Contract position based out of Santa Clara, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $85.00/hr.
