    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality health care services. The role involves stocking rooms, cleaning instruments, autoclaving, and setting up rooms for procedures. You will be responsible for patient intake, which includes collecting medical history and recording symptoms, as well as greeting and escorting patients to their rooms.

    Responsibilities

    + Stock and prepare rooms for medical procedures.

    + Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment.

    + Perform patient intake by collecting medical history and recording symptoms.

    + Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms.

    + Assist with phlebotomy and taking vital signs.

    + Provide primary care support and patient care.

    Essential Skills

    + Completed Medical Assistant program.

    + Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a medical assistant.

    + Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing phlebotomy.

    + Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), especially Eclinical Works (eCW).

    + Strong professional communication skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Certification as a Medical Assistant or completed Medical Assistant program

    + Experience with Microsoft Office.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in a high-volume, fast-paced community health center located in Poughkeepsie. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, providing care to all individuals regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. The health center is part of a network that includes over 400 doctors and 43 health centers across the Hudson Valley, New York City, and Long Island.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
