    Job Description

    The Director of Innovation, Equity and Engagement plays a crucial role in ensuring that the school district accomplishes its goals for innovation, equity, and engagement.

     

    This individual will report to the Assistant Superintendent of Innovation Equity and Engagement. The incumbent in this position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department. The work is performed under administrative supervision with wide latitude given for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Supervision is exercised over other departmental staff as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent. The incumbent does related work as required.

    TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

    + Lead as a member of the team to perform the following duties and all other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Innovation, Equity and Engagement and his/her designee.

    + As one of the primary individuals in charge of operations and implementation, the director will help lead various initiatives including supporting the Community Schools Work, Community School Coordinators, Parent Liaisons and Engagement Activities.

    + The director will establish, nurture, guide and extend partnerships with community, collegiate, healthcare, faith-based and business partnerships and work collaboratively with the Supervisor of District Partnerships and Youth Activities.

    + Collaborate with all building leaders to support community engagement work and engaging active PTOs throughout the district.

    + Assist in the development and implementation of various contracts with community-based organizations which provide services during Saturday’s and after-school programs.

    + Assist in the development and implementation of strategies and plans to promote the district’s equity, diversity and inclusion goals and address culture and climate matters related to diversity and inclusion for both employees and students.

    + Collaborate with Human Resources to cultivate relationships with key partners to recruit and create a pipeline of diverse applicants for employment in all positions in the district and develop strategies for support and retention of employees of color.

    + Collaboratively plan, act, assess, monitor and revise all of the district’s initiatives for Innovation, Equity and Engagement.

    + Uses data to prepare analysis of innovation, equity and engagement practices and to identify the return on investment of various initiatives.

    + Performs such other duties consistent with his/her professional competence as the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent and the Board may, from time to time assign;

    + Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties. Does related work as required.

    Job Qualifications

    + Master’s Degree required;

    + Valid NYS School District Leader (SDL or SDA);

    + 2-3 years of school-based administrative experience is preferred
