+ Build relationships with North American industry partners to enable strong negotiations and supplier management.

+ Manage and maintain necessary container inventory levels, including forecasting incoming supply and demand up to six weeks in advance.

+ Monitor and communicate export shipment status and proactively resolve anticipated service failures.

+ Maintain strong communication channels with internal groups including Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, Accounting, Vessel Operations, and Pricing.

+ Provide logistics service primarily via email for coordination of shipping containers both locally and internationally.

+ Receive and process 100-400 emails per day, determining which are important and which are for reference.

    Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in business or transportation (logistics, import/export, etc.).

+ Proficiency in logistics, shipping, BOL, attention to detail, organization skills, high volume documentation, negotiation skills, ERP systems, financial analysis, and sales analysis.

    + Interpersonal and teaming skills.

+ Ability to independently work on projects and be self-motivated.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree and interest in pursuing logistics/transportation.

+ Driven to learn necessary skills for the role and quick problem-solving abilities.

+ Proficiency in Excel for filtering and organizing data.

+ Experience with Westlink ERP and occasional use of Phoenix.

+ Interaction with leasing company websites (e.g., Triton, Textainer) is beneficial.

    Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting with around 60 people divided into 4-5 sections handling different portions of inbound and outbound freight. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm, with a start time between 6am and 7am. There may be opportunities for overtime, with shifts lasting 9-10 hours.
