    Corporate Payroll Specialist I

    Summary

    The Corporate Payroll Specialist I is responsible for maintaining accurate payroll records, including hours worked, pay rate changes, overtime, and leave balances. This role supports timecard processing, manual check issuance, and payroll reconciliation.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    The Corporate Payroll Specialist I will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas to perform effectively, safely, and productively. These responsibilities reflect the general scope of work and are not an exhaustive list of all duties, skills, or working conditions associated with the role:

     

    + Enter new employee data into the payroll system and verify required documentation

    + Maintain and update employee payroll records

    + Audit timekeeping entries to ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and union agreements

    + Manually input time data for roles not using OPC

    + Process payroll according to the designated pay cycle

    + Handle check corrections and resolve pay discrepancies

    + Record vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay accurately

    + Apply special pay rates such as overtime, prevailing wage, and union rates

    + Manage unemployment claims, certified payrolls, garnishments, levies, CIP reports, employment verifications, and union reporting

    + Understand and apply union, prevailing wage, and certified payroll procedures

    Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or GED

    + Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience

    + Proficient in multi-state payroll processing, including union payrolls, garnishments, child support, Canadian payrolls, and certified payrolls (Davis-Bacon)

    + Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel

    + Experience with LCP Tracker preferred

    + Strong attention to detail and accuracy

    + Self-motivated and deadline-driven

    + Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

    + Excellent communication skills and commitment to confidentiality

    + Experience with Paycor or Vista is a plus

    + FPC or CPP certification preferred

    + Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
