    Summary

Elevance Health is seeking a seasoned and visionary technology leader to serve as Staff VP Platform Strategy, a role uniquely positioned at the intersection of product delivery, operating model design, and enterprise execution. This highly influential individual contributor will be responsible for shaping and institutionalizing how technology work is defined, governed, prioritized, and executed across the Office of the CTPO and its interfaces with the broader organization.

The ideal candidate brings experience working at scale in complex matrixed environments, exceptional systems thinking, and a track record of driving execution discipline through product-centric models, agile practices, and enterprise alignment.

    Team Scope

    6-7 Directs

    Position Responsibilities

Design & Evolve the Product Operating Model

+ Define and mature the product operating model across the CTO organization, aligning with enterprise strategy, funding models, and delivery structures.

+ Drive adoption of product-centric delivery, including lifecycle governance, outcome orientation, and team topology.

+ Lead efforts to classify and organize product portfolios in a way that supports prioritization, accountability, and investment transparency.

Define Interaction Models & Execution Architecture

+ Architect the interaction model across technology domains (engineering, platforms, architecture, security, data, infra) and with business counterparts.

+ Establish consistent patterns for cross-functional collaboration, intake, and dependency management that enable scalable, reliable delivery.

+ Partner with leaders in Product, Operations, Finance, and HR to integrate execution planning with workforce, budget, and OKR processes.

Drive Execution Discipline & Value Realization

+ Operationalize planning-to-delivery mechanisms such as quarterly planning, governance cadences, and execution scorecards.

+ Establish clear measurement frameworks to track throughput, value delivery, and capacity alignment across CTPO teams.

+ Identify execution risks, structural blockers, and systemic friction points—then drive resolution in partnership with senior leaders.

Strategic Thought Partnership & Leadership Enablement

+ Act as a trusted advisor to the CTPO and senior-most technology executives, providing insight and analysis to guide transformation decisions.

+ Translate high-level enterprise and technology strategy into actionable operating structures and scalable patterns.

+ Contribute thought leadership to enterprise initiatives such as tech debt reduction, AI readiness, platform unification, and value stream alignment.

    Core Competencies

+ Enterprise Design Thinking – Ability to model large-scale organizational and delivery systems with clarity.

+ Strategic Execution – Passion for operational rigor, delivery velocity, and measurable impact.

+ Influence Without Authority – Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills to lead through alignment, not hierarchy.

+ Architectural Perspective – Capable of translating high-level architecture and portfolio strategy into operational plans.

    Position Requirements

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 15 years of experience managing and/or leading project teams and providing direction to associates; experience in one or more specific technologies, and a broad understanding of the primary areas of a major corporate IT function; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

    Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences

+ 15+ years of experience in enterprise technology, with significant time in senior roles focused on delivery excellence, enterprise architecture, or operating model design.

+ Demonstrated experience implementing and evolving product operating models at scale in large, regulated, or highly complex organizations.

+ Deep experience/expertise in agile/lean product delivery, organizational design, metrics/KPIs, and cross-domain coordination.

+ Strong systems experience, with the ability to synthesize complexity and create structured, scalable frameworks.

+ Experience influencing C-level executives and aligning diverse stakeholders across business and technology.

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree or enterprise leadership training is a plus.
