    Honeywell Industrial Automation – HSS has an exciting opportunity in Richardson, TX and is seeking a candidate for a full-time position on the Quality Product Integrity team as a Lead Project Engineer. At Honeywell IA, our commitment to product safety is an integral part of ourbusiness - every day. Our Safety Management System is essential to delivering best-in-class products and services to our customers. Product Integrity supports accident investigations and product liability claims in the rare instances when product safety has not met customer, Honeywell, or regulatory standards and requirements. Product Integrity drives timely corrective action to ensure the safety of Honeywell Sensing Solutions products.

     

    Reports directly to IA Quality Leader

     

    Significant interaction and collaboration required with the IA Cross-functional teams, i.e. HSE COEs, Quality, Sourcing, Procurement, and the Product Stewardship and Regulatory Compliance teams.

     

    Almost daily interaction with the key functions of Design Engineering, Product Management, Sourcing Quality and Data Management Support

     

    Based in any of the sites or design centers – position requires cross – functional interaction on a global level within a large span of time zones.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    + **Lead and facilitate** product safety investigations

    + Provide **technical support** for accident investigations conducted by NTSB, and other domestic and foreign investigative and airworthiness authorities, across the entire portfolio of HSS products

    + **Respond to accident sites:** Investigators are part of rapid response teams, like the NTSB Go Team (https://www.ntsb.gov/investigations/process/Pages/goteam.aspx) , and may travel to remote or hazardous locations to start their investigation.

    + **Gather evidence:** This includes collecting physical debris, photographing the scene, taking measurements, and recovering data from flight recorders and instruments.

    + **Analyze evidence:** Investigators use high-powered microscopes and computers to examine wreckage, digital data, and maintenance records, looking for clues about what went wrong by using various tools to identify root causes, 8D, why tree, etc…

    + **Interview witnesses and collect data:** They interview witnesses, gather documentary evidence, and interrogate relevant personnel to build a complete picture of the accident circumstances.

    + **Formulate safety recommendations:** Based on their findings, investigators create Corrective actions (RCCA) and document in reports with safety recommendations for regulators and industry to improve aviation safety.

    + **Communicate findings:** They must be able to prepare detailed written reports and effectively communicate their findings to various audiences, sometimes acting as expert witnesses.

    US CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENTS

    Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

    YOU MUST HAVE

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

    + At least 5 years of relevant experience in the domain / area of Aerospace industry

    + Detailed understanding and experience in managing compliance with governmental agencies (NTSB/FAA/etc.)

    + Familiar and working experience with AS9100D

    + Travel 25% as needed domestic or international.

    + Degree qualified in Science / Technology or equivalent such as engineering, regulatory affairs, or technical discipline.

    + Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities while working effectively in a large global multi-national matrix organization, which includes coverage of nonstandard work hours.

    + Ability to address/influence a wide range of cultures, disciplines and levels within the organization by creating solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    + Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, must maintain professionalism and flexibility while working under pressure of deadlines and dealing with ambiguous situations

    + Strong negotiation, persuasion/influence, facilitation and presentation skills; analytical thinking and problem solving.

    + Ability to work with limited supervision, self-directed and self - motivated specialist able to drive teams to deliver tangible / measurable results

    + Outstanding verbal, written and presentation clarity in English language

    + Fluent in English – other preferred such as: Spanish, French, Chinese, Indian

    + Very high flexibility on working with organizations in various time zones around the globe.
