The Role:

Xylem is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, test, and repair drinking water and waste water treatment systems and odor control equipment, primarily in Xylem’s Utility Services Northeast Service Region, and secondarily support the Southeast, Central, and West Service Regions. The candidate will reside in the Northeast Service Region and report through the New Castle, Delaware Regional office. This position will involve work in waste water collection systems and waste water treatment plants, which can include exposure to unpleasant odors and conditions.

The role includes hands-on field work using a company vehicle and offers standard day-shift hours, with opportunities for overtime and occasional evening/weekend work. Candidates with backgrounds in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical work, or diesel/mechanical systems are highly encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do:

+ Install, maintain, and repair drinking water and waste water treatment systems and odor control equipment

+ Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems

+ Identify and resolve safety concerns on both company and customer owned equipment

+ Provide direct customer support and represent Xylem on site

+ Work across multiple customer sites and technologies, primarily in Xylem’s Utility Services Northeast Region, and secondarily lend support to the Southeast, Central, and West Regions

+ Maintain and care for company tools, equipment, and service vehicle

+ Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork

+ Work both independently and in team environments

Travel requirements:

+ Daily/multiple day travel within the Northeast Service Region

+ Multiple day/extended travel to support the other Service Regions and large/special projects

+ **Travel 80-100%**

+ All overnight travel expenses (hotels and daily meal allowances) are company paid

Requirements:

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

+ 1-2 years of mechanical/technical experience

+ Prior customer service experience preferred

+ Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, communication skills

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices

+ Clean driving record and ability to safely operate a company service vehicle

+ Able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen

The estimated salary range for this position is $29 to $33/hourly. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location.
