Job Description
BAE Systems, North Charleston based Automated Fuel System Integration (AFSI) Team is looking for a talented Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) engineer that can help our team analyze, design, build and test large scale fuel control systems for the Department of Defense. Duties include:
+ Responsible for the preparation of equipment lists, instrument index, loop sheets, I/O lists
+ Ensures that production of drawings, specifications, reports and analysis meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements
+ Ensure design documents adhere to applicable governing codes (NEC, NFPA, ISA, UFC, etc.).
+ Participates in reviews of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
+ Participates in Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) to consider safety aspects to equipment, personnel, public and environment
+ Meets with plant technical staff to discuss technical information and features
+ Prepares sketches and performs calculations for a detailed segment of a project
+ Prepares equipment specifications, inquiry (RFQ) and purchase requisitions for approval
+ Evaluates vendor bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications
+ Communicates equipment design to project personnel and other disciplines
+ Participates in preparation of design guides, guide specifications, and contract proposals including basis of estimate (BOE) and statement of work (SOW)
+ Develops Electrical Area Classification (EAC) documents for instrumentation installations in hazardous areas
+ Participates in project integration/testing activities and field assignments as required; can include equipment inspections at vendor facilities
+ May participate with construction personnel concerning constructability issues as related to field conditions, sequencing and scheduling of installation activities
This role will include travel to work sites as well as customer and vendor locations, including internationally. The need for SCADA Engineers is growing within DoD and the opportunity to grow within this career field is available at BAE Systems. Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in an Electrical or Systems Engineering discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering position. Applicant must possess a basic understanding of the systems engineering process and be able to translate requirements into design and realize them through testing for electronics based systems.
+ Experience in the design of PLC or DCS based control systems
+ Knowledge of National Electrical Code requirements for industrial facilities and hazardous locations
+ Strong MS Office 365 expertise
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Experience with Fuel distribution or control systems.
+ Experience in Agile methodology
+ Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Model Based Systems Engineering
+ Experience using AutoCAD and the AutoDesk suite of tools.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77814 - $132283
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
