H eartland AEA has a part-time Accounting Specialist position available in our Johnston office, averaging 25 hours per week with a hybrid schedule. This position will be supporting the Business Office and payroll function. This includes, accurate and timely payment of wages to all Agency employees, compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, processing all federal and state payroll taxes in a timely and accurate manner. Assisting with monthly billing duties and monthly bank reconciliation. Providing prompt, courteous, and excellent service to all customers. Partnering and consulting with business colleagues to implement and achieve goals and strategy.
Qualifications:
3 years of comprehensive payroll experience is required, prefer experience in a comparable public agency and with BusinessPlus. An Associate's degree in business or accou nting is also preferred. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate expertise in practices and laws pertaining to payroll processing. Must be able to multitask and meet frequent deadlines, be accurate and self motivated, and be able to identify and solve complex issues.
