Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Wireless System Engineer to join the VR HW Wireless Technology team at Reality Labs. In this role, you will be a key member of a team of innovators, working on cutting-edge wireless technologies on VR products. You will collaborate with world class talents from internal cross-functional teams and external partners to bring product wireless design from concept to market.

Required Skills:

Wireless Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Analyze wireless subsystem requirements (including but not limited to RF, PHY, MAC, protocol, and application level performance) based on product requirements and use cases

2. Design and specify the wireless system architecture, algorithm, protocol and procedure fitting the future VR use cases with stringent functional, quality, performance, footprint and power requirements

3. Set system performance expectation for wireless subsystems and drive the wireless architecture (hardware/software) with other cross-functional teams achieving product performance optimization

4. Interface and collaborate with wireless chipset vendors to ensure system requirements, such as RF/baseband performance, system control architecture, HW/SW interface architectures and longer term technology roadmaps

5. Research new technologies and analyze competition technologies, design new algorithms/protocols and specify solution options to solve complicated problems for future VR products

6. Analyze system performance issues and chipset/firmware/software defects, and improve broad system level performance during product cycle

7. Knowledge of radio coex requirements (Wi-Fi & Bluetooth) and features across wireless technologies including analyzing use case performance in coex scenario, defining coex policies that optimize VR user experiences

8. Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

9. 5+ years of wireless system engineering experience in consumer electronic product development

10. In-depth understanding of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies

11. Experience in consumer electronics product wireless feature design, modeling/simulation and testing

12. System performance debugging experience, analytical and problem solving experience

13. Experience leading technical initiatives across a cross-functional organization

15. End-to-end wireless system hands-on simulation and lab testing experience

16. Wide cross-functional team collaboration experience

17. Proficiency with one or more of the following programming or scripting languages: Matlab, Python, C/C++

18. In-depth understanding of cellular technologies

19. Experiences with Cellular, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth standards

Public Compensation:

$139,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
