Job Title:Pharmacy Technician – Urology Clinic PharmacyLocation: Dallas, TXSchedule:Monday–Friday | Daytime Hours | No Nights, Weekends, or Holidays
Position Summary
The Pharmacy Technician will support the urology clinic pharmacy team in a non-retail, desk-based role focused on medication coordination and patient communication. This position involves frequent phone interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, managing prior authorizations, and ensuring timely and accurate documentation to support high-quality patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Answer incoming phone calls from patients and healthcare providers
+ Process prescription refills and new medication requests
+ Prepare and submit prior authorization documentation
+ Communicate with providers to verify or clarify prescription details
+ Document activities accurately in pharmacy systems and electronic medical records (EMRs)
+ Assist with patient outreach and medication adherence programs
+ Perform administrative and clerical tasks in support of the pharmacy team
Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
+ Prior experience in a pharmacy setting required (clinic or specialty pharmacy experience preferred)
+ Strong verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette
+ Proficiency in EMRs, pharmacy software, and general computer applications
+ Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively
+ Willingness to complete training in Dallas, TX
