TITLE: School Psychologist Intern, full year 2025-2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate for this position should be enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program for School Psychology and must have completed all practicum requirements prior to assuming this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ The intern will engage in a 1,200 clock hour internship experience in the Victor Central School District that includes the opportunity to apply a range of assessment, consultation, and intervention techniques to the benefit of students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade. The intern is expected to assume the same roles and responsibilities that are assumed by other school psychologists working in the district with supervision and support provided as needed. The intern should enter the internship placement with prerequisite skills acquired in the first two years of their school psychology graduate training. These skills will be further developed through feedback from supervisors and peers on practical experiences engaged in by the intern at the internship site.
+ In the area of assessment, it is expected that the intern will have a broad knowledge base of assessment tools and techniques including how to administer standardized intelligence and achievement tests, surveys, and questionnaires. The intern will also conduct classroom observations and functional behavior assessments. The intern should be able to effective communicate the findings of assessments in both written and oral form to parents, teachers, and administrators. These communications will occur during parent and teacher consultation sessions, various meetings, and in written reports. The intern will also consult on a variety of topics such as instructional and behavioral consultation, pre-referral intervention, and program development when the opportunity is available.
+ The intern will also provide a range of interventions. Such interventions may include individual and group counseling sessions, behavioral contracts, behavior modification plans, and crisis interventions. The intern will participate in Pupil Support Teams and create and provide in-service presentations for school staff.
+ In addition to providing assessments, consultation, and interventions, the intern is also expected to be aware of and comply with school policy, state and federal regulations as they pertain to special and regular education, and the ethical standards established by the National Association of School Psychologists and the American Psychological Association. Finally, the intern is expected to conduct himself/herself in a professional manner at all times.
SALARY:$21,000 for the full 2025-2026 School Year
