STIPEND OPPORTUNITY: Transition Assessment
Summary and Deliverables:
The Office of Specialized Services is seeking a special education teacher that can complete a Transition Assessment for a student placed in an Out of District placement. The assessment must be individualized to the student’s needs and include:
+ The TPI 3 and ONet as well as other assessments depending on the vision, current student performance, work and life experiences, need and transition related goals.
+ An interview and observation of the student in his current placement is also required.
+ A summary of findings and recommendations will be based on the data gathered as well as an interview with the student and a review of available records and student performance.
+ Presentation of findings at the student’s IEP meeting is also required.
Required Travel:
+ The candidate will have to travel outside of the City of Boston to complete the assessment.
Terms:
+ Each completed transition assessment will be compensated at $600
+ At the discretion of the OSS Deputy Chief, travel costs (mileage, parking, public transportation fees) will be reimbursed in accordance with the existing BPS policy.
+ At the discretion of the OSS Deputy Chief, travel time will be reimbursed at the negotiated hourly rate.
