Farmingdale State College invites applications for full-time lecturer positions in Psychology to support the Direct Support Professional (DSP) Microcredential program. This program is designed to enhance the academic and career success of Direct Support Professionals across New York State. The successful candidate will be expected to hold a Master-level degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Education, Early Childhood, or Psychology. The role involves teaching 6 contact hours per semester, along with receiving 9 credits of release time to provide wrap-around services for students enrolled in the microcredential. Additionally, lecturers are required to maintain a minimum of 15 office hours per week. Responsibilities also include student advisement, departmental service, and participation in curriculum review and development.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Education, Early Childhood, or Psychology.
+ Experience working with adult learners.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
+ Two years of college-level teaching experience.
+ Experience working as a Direct Support Professional.
+ Experience working as an academic coach.
+ Bilingual.
Additional Information:
This is a full-time UUP position.
+ For the first 10 working days, beginning Tuesday, September 30, 2025, and ending Thursday, October 9, 2025, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
+ CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled
+ SALARY: $65,000 + $4,000 in downstate location pay = $69,000 Total Compensation.
+ ANTICIPATED START DATE: January 2026
