In this fast-paced role, you’ll coordinate emergency ground and air transport, consult with EMS partners, and help ensure every patient transfer is safe, efficient, and clinically sound.
What You’ll Do:
• Lead the Movement: Coordinate the deployment of ground and air medical teams across the UVA-Medical Transport Network.
• Consult and Collaborate: Work closely with EMS providers, hospital teams, and external partners to ensure seamless patient transfers and emergency response.
• Drive Critical Communication: Be the central voice connecting internal medical teams and external agencies—every call you take moves care forward.

+ Understands and properly uses all communication equipment and programs.
+ Maintains safety as a primary role throughout all aspects of transport team resource coordination and multi-mode tracking of transport assets (ground vehicles and aircraft).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
**Education:** High School Graduate or Equivalent required.
**Experience:** Communications center experience and/or basic dispatcher course/dispatch experience preferred.
**Licensure:** Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. AHA Health Care Provider BLS CPR certification required. Must obtain Advanced EMT certification or higher within three years of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, frequently typing/traveling and multi-tasking activities. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull > 20lbs. May be exposed to fumes, heat, noise, High-stress environment and environment prone to high-capacity sensory stimulation.
Position Compensation Range: $15.07 - $30.14 Hourly
