The Amazon Devices team delivers high-profile consumer electronics, including Amazon devices like Fire TV Streaming Media players and Echo Show Home Assistants.

We are looking for a Senior Manager of Product Management - Tech to lead the product team and drive the product vision and roadmap for Application Development Toolkit. We provide a set of tools and services that empower App developers to create new device experiences across a broad set of categories. This is a tremendous opportunity to own the strategy and roadmap for common device software used by thousands of app developers.

You must be passionate about delivering services and tools to customers while also possessing a strategic understanding of business objectives. A strong technical background is required to produce concrete specifications and work closely with engineering to drive implementation. In this role, you will be at the forefront of multiple technologies with interactions across the full breadth of Devices services, and must be creative and forward leaning in developing solutions.

You will own product planning in roadmap and feature definition and will work directly with executive leadership, customers, and partners of all sizes and segments iterating on our product vision and driving business development.

You will be a business owner who can scale from strategic vision development with direct interaction with senior leadership across multiple organizations to tactical product development and execution. In addition, we need you to help shape the vision for future customer capabilities and develop a strategy to achieve the vision.

Key job responsibilities

- As leader of leaders, lead a Product Management team that delivers across a broad spectrum of domains.

- Manage and develop the team, including hiring, retention, management, mentoring and capability/skill development.

- Evaluate complex business and technical requirements, and provide clarity in the strategy, direction, and product definition.

- Manage the entire product life cycle from inception to launch.

- Regular engagement with senior executives to represent your project within broader strategies.

- Establish consistence product management processes, standards, and guidelines in the execution of program wide efforts. Engage enterprise wide teams as needed with focus on results.

Basic Qualifications

- 12+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

- 6+ years of team management experience

- Bachelor's degree

- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

- Experience with end to end product delivery

- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience engaging and influencing senior executives

- MBA/Master’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, Science, Math or related field

- Experience in building application development environments (IDEs/SDKs/Tools)

- Experience on cross domain Operating System (OS) components and technology domains (media, graphics, connectivity)

- Experience in building platform and hardware adaptation for software components

- Knowledge and experience working with Amazon devices

- Experience with open source

- Prior working experience in a Software Development Team

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $160,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $265,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
