    Job Description:

    If so, Student Wellness with the Division of Student Affairs at Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for a Health Promotion and Engagement Specialist! This individual plays a key role in advancing student health and well-being through strategic communication, data-informed storytelling, and health promotion initiatives. This position will be hired as a Wellness Program Specialist II.

    What You'll Do:

    + Develop and deliver health education programs and wellness content across digital platforms.

    + Lead student engagement initiatives, including peer wellness programs and health promotion campaigns.

    + Coordinate and support outreach events, presentations, and student leadership activities.

    + Collaborate with campus partners to promote wellness and align efforts with institutional goals.

    + Assist with design and communications projects related to health promotion.

    + Utilize wellness data and create visual reports to inform programming and strategy.

    + Support campus-wide assessments and contribute to institutional reporting on student wellbeing.

    + Facilitate interactive presentations and training sessions that support student development and wellness education.

     

    The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a strong foundation in public health, communication, and data visualization. This role involves collaboration with university departments and community organizations, and requires the ability to present information effectively to large groups, including tailoring content for student audiences. The position is housed within the Student Wellness Department and supports the broader Student Health and Wellness Unit, which includes Recreation Services, Student Counseling Services, Student Wellness, and Thielen Student Health Center. The specialist will work closely with the Communication and Marketing Manager for the unit.

     

    Occasional weekend/evening hours will be involved in this role.

     

    Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
